Requirements: Craftsman 1
You can make contraptions to aid you both in and out of combat. The crafting page might be useful here.
Level 1. You can put skill points into the Crafting (Invention) skill. You have +1 in the Crafting (Invention) skill for each level you have in this boon. You gain the following crafting recipes:
Inventor's Bench: (None) Crafting (Invention). 12 hours. Cost: workbench x1, pure metal x2, leather strap x3.
Inventors Bench: An inventor's bench is considered a workbench for the sake of crafting requirements.
Sentry Turret: (Inventor's Bench) Crafting (Invention). 1 hour. Cost: pure metal x1, refined wood x1, leather strap x1.
Sentry Turret: Takes up 1x1 units of space. Activating or deactivating a sentry turret takes 3 TS and can be done by any creature within 1 unit. When you activate a sentry turret, choose any number of creatures you can see or kinds of creatures you know of. If any creatures aside from the chosen creatures enter within 10 units of the sentry turret, the turret makes a loud ringing noise that awakens any creatures within 10 units. Collapses into a small container when deactivated so it can be carried.
Level 2. You gain the following crafting recipe:
Ballista Turret: (Inventor's Bench) Crafting (Invention). 1 hour. Cost: pure metal x1, refined wood x3, leather strap x2.
Ballista Turret: Takes up 1x1 units of space. Activating or deactivating a sentry turret takes 3 TS and can be done by its creator within 1 unit. A ballista turret must be loaded with arrows or bullets in order to function. When you activate a sentry turret, choose any number of creatures you can see or kinds of creatures you know of. On your turn each round, the ballista turret makes an attack against the closest creature aside from chosen creatures with it's ballista attack. If there is no valid target within range, the turret does nothing. Collapses into a small container when deactivated so it can be carried.
Ballista: +1 to hit for each level its creator has in the Inventor boon. 1d6 damage if loaded with arrows, 1d8 damage if loaded with bullets, range 5 units. Consumes 1 Bullet or Arrow.
Level 3. You gain the following crafting recipe:
Landmine: (Inventor's Bench) Crafting (Invention). 1 hour. Cost: leather strap x1, pure metal x1, boom powder x1.
Landmine: Can be burried. Activating a landmine takes 3 TS and can be done by any creature within 1 unit. Landmins cannot be deactivated. If a creature steps on the same unit as a landmine, even if the landmine is burried less than 1 unit underground, the landmine explodes, dealing 3d6 damage to every creature within 2 units. A creature can avoid this damage by making a [Q] roll (your [I] or higher to succeed). After the landmine explodes, it cannot be recovered.
