Sneak Attacker

Requirements: Knifeman 1, [Q] 12+

You can make use of gaps in your enemies' defenses to deal additional damage.

Level 1. You deal 1d4 extra damage when you hit an attack from behind, after being hit by such an attack, the target may make a [J] check (Your [Q]uickness or above to succeed) to turn your direction for 1 TS. The damage dealt by this boon increases by 1d4 for each additional level you have in it. (1d4 at level 1, 2d4 at level 2, 3d4 at level 3...)

Level 2. You have a +2 bonus to hit when attacking from behind.

Level 3. When you hit an enemy with an attack from behind, you may attempt an execution. The execution automatically fails if the target has more than half of their max HP. To attempt an execution, you make an attack roll at -5, (called shot to the neck) the target defends with a [J] roll, if you hit, the target is instantly reduced to 0 HP. You may attempt an execution 1 time before recharging it with a 5-hour rest. Some creatures, at the DMs discretion, might be immune to execution.

Ascendant Sneak Attacker

Requirements: Sneak Attacker 3, Knifeman 3, Opportunist 3

You have mastered breaking through an opponent's defense beyond that of any ordinary warrior.

Level 1. All attacks you make as an interruption count as attacks from behind.

Level 2. You may attempt an execution 2 times per 5-hour rest rather than 1.

Level 3. You do not automatically fail on execution attempts against targets with more than half of their max HP. Your execution attempts against targets with more than half of their max HP are at an addition -5.Â
